Anemia affects more than half of Indian women and girls, making it one of the country's most widespread but under-recognized health issues. According to NFHS-5, over 50% of this population is anemic. Yet despite national health programs, early detection continues to lag especially in rural or underserved areas where access to testing is limited and fear of invasive blood draws discourages participation.
To tackle this crisis, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan - a national campaign focused on preventive health screening for women and adolescent girls. With over 6.5 crore women screened across 18 lakh health camps, the scale has been impressive. However, the need for scalable, accessible screening technologies especially in remote regions still persists.
In response to this gap, Ezerx became a non-invasive hemoglobin testing technology partner for the Odisha chapter of the Swasth Nari mission. During this initiative, our team carried out over 2.5 lakh non-invasive hemoglobin screenings for women , pregnant women, Anganwadi children and school-going children (girls and boys ) many of whom stepped forward for the first time, encouraged by the fact that no needles or blood collection were involved.
In this article, we explore how Ezerx’s smart device, EzeCheck, is supporting the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan by enabling early anemia detection at scale. From mass outreach to needle-free screening, we share how this innovation is bringing accessible healthcare closer to the communities that need it most.

Detail Understanding of Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar mission
What is the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar initiative?
“Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” (Healthy Woman, Empowered Family) is a national health outreach campaign launched by India’s Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Women & Child Development. From September 17 to October 2, 2025, it aimed to deliver preventive, promotive, and curative health services to women, children, and families through massive screening camps.
Over 18 lakh health camps were held across the country, with a footfall of nearly 10 crore citizens and more than 6.5 crore women benefitting. During the “ Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” two weeks campaign, the scale and diversity of screenings were remarkable:
Key health challenges for Women, families & anemia
Anemia continues to impact women and adolescent girls in India at an alarming rate especially in rural and marginalized communities. Despite national health efforts, access to screening remains limited due to several factors - invasive blood tests, cold chain dependencies, lab infrastructure, and the need for trained personnel. These barriers often lead to low participation rates in large-scale screening drives.
In addition, delays in test results, high operational costs, and discomfort around needles further discourage women from getting tested. To overcome these challenges and reach the last mile, innovations like non-invasive, affordable, and portable anemia screening tools (Ezecheck) are no longer optional they’re essential.

How EzeCheck Works: Three Technologies, One Powerful Solution
Clinical validation & accuracy
ICMR-RMRC validated and clinically proven for accuracy, EzeCheck by EzeRx delivers lab-comparable results at a fraction of the cost. Clinically proof validation studies demonstrate approximately 93% accuracy within ±1.5 g/dL when compared to conventional hemoglobin tests. What sets it apart is its exceptionally low per-test expenditure ,comparable to the most minimal diagnostic costs along with the complete absence of reagents, consumables, or cold-chain requirements. These attributes make EzeCheck not only accurate but also highly scalable and practical for widespread public health deployment, particularly in rural India.
Its portability and simplicity make it field ready. Health workers, school staff, or ASHA teams can operate the device with minimal training, and because it doesn't rely on cold chain logistics or lab infrastructure, it's perfectly suited for rural and remote deployments.
How Ezerx Supports the Swasthya Nari Parivar Mission in Practice
At EzeRx, “Easy for Prescription” and “Making Healthcare Accessible Through Innovation” aren’t just slogans ,they guide our real-world action. Our commitment to innovation-driven, preventive healthcare aligns deeply with the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, helping transform technology into tangible community health impact.
Mass Screening in Women & Adolescent Health Camps
In Odisha, EzeRx supported the state’s public health mission by conducting over 2.5 lakh anemia screenings under Swasth Nari anemia testing campaign. Most of the beneficiaries were school-going children (both boys and girls), anganwadi children, and a smaller segment of pregnant women and adolescents, who had previously avoided testing due to fear of needles and now stepped forward with confidence due to needle-free testing, thanks to our painless, non-invasive approach.
In large health camps or school health programs, EzeCheck significantly improves throughput testing dozens per hour without lab queues or blood draws. This early detection has helped flag iron deficiencies before symptoms emerge making it ideal for mass health campaigns.
School Health & Family Health Programs
Early intervention is key to building healthier families. Through school-based screenings, EzeCheck identifies anemia among children especially adolescent girls allowing for timely dietary or medical intervention.
When integrated into state-run school health and family wellness programs, the data captured by EzeCheck enables targeted follow-ups, closing the loop between detection and action. This ensures that both children and women within a household benefit from accessible, preventive care—laying the foundation for stronger, healthier communities.
Support for Government / CSR / Community Programs
EzeRx actively partners with government programs such as RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram) and Anaemia Mukt Bharat, along with CSR-led health initiatives. Our non-invasive device is a perfect fit for large-scale deployment - reducing costs, eliminating consumables, and simplifying logistics.
With proven success in pilot and state-level deployments, we help public health leaders implement anemia screening programs that are efficient, compliant, and ready to scale.
